50th law review

Book Review: The 50th Law

I love to read. It is one of those ways to get a workout of your mind. After all, your muscles aren’t the only thing that needs a workout to grow! I read mostly off of recommendations. Sometimes they are a hit, sometimes they are a dud. And in the case of The 50th Law by Robert Greene and 50 Cent, they take me by total surprise as one of my all time favorite reads. I never expected what came out of this book to touch me like it did. Here is my review.

What Time Should I Stop Eating?

This one is from the mail bag! Every once in awhile, I will get someone emailing or asking me a question about health and fitness. I LOVE when this happens because chances are if one person has the question, there is someone else out there that can benefit from the answer to that question. If you have a question you would love to see answered, contact me and let me know your questions. All questions are always anonymous. Sometimes, I will post the answer you are looking for without even stating that it was a question! How’s that for 50 shades of sneaky? 🙂 But this one is a question so let’s dive into the answer.

You Have To Know What You Want

There is a very common problem I see in many people I talk to. Doesn’t matter if we are talking about money, fitness, weight loss, relationships – whatever it is, there is this common underlying issue that most people fall into which prevents them from any sort of progress. And that issue is not knowing what they want. Sure – most people have an idea of what they want, or some general concept of what they want – but not many people have a hard, measurable, tangible goal of what they want.

Hope Is Not A Strategy

As much as I would love this blog to be my full time job, my family has to eat. So while I pour my heart and soul into this passion at night, I get to live my passion during the day as well. I work for a healthcare IT company on the population health team showing off a leading wellness platform. I get to have daily discussions on health and wellness and how to engage a population to get them healthy, more productive and living life like it should be lived, while showing the value to business owners for investing in an online wellness platform. It’s just what I do. : )

It’s About Time!

Do I have a treat for you!

I started fitbodymindlife.com to really show how your life needs to be a whole life approach rather than just health and fitness. There are SO MANY aspects that go into a successful life, I have topic and content for days!

Sometimes, it is easier to let other people take the stage and give you some content. Sean Croxton, a fellow health and wellness professional, has created a summit on a topic that I believe very strongly is a critical aspect to a healthy, happy and long life.

In The End – It Doesn’t Matter

I was reminded today of something that is very important to me. Like most humans, I forget what is important. I get caught up in life, and that makes it difficult to keep your eye on the ultimate prize.

I went into the office of my boss today and asked about the progress of a position that was rumored to be opened. My boss – whom is one of the best people I have ever had mentor me – pulled me in and closed the door and told me something very important:

Stop Your Excuses

I was listening to the radio this morning and the subject of women and their work came on. The DJ was sarcastically talking how he wants to 50s back so he can work, and he can come home and his wife will have his martini and newspaper ready, he will put his slippers on, relax after a hard days work while his wife finished making dinner, in a clean house that always has the laundry done. And as you can imagine, these sarcastic remarks did not bode well with many of his female listeners and the calls start pouring in!

The Worst Thing You Can Teach Your Kids

I recently took a friend visiting from a different country to Disneyland, the happy place on earth. And I saw something that bugged me to my very core.

While waiting in line for one of the rides, there was a family of 4, all of them – ALL OF THEM – had those electronic scooters putting through the park. The kids couldn’t be more that 15 and 10. All were in the line for those with disabilities to get to the front.

Really? What is that teaching your kids? It is teaching your kids to give up in life.
